Interesting fact about his visit:
1/ Out of the three states he is visiting (officially), Iowa is one of them. Big surprise! Seems like he enjoys mid-west a ton!
2/ Xi is going to LA Lakers game when he is in Cali. Any LA friends, make sure you go to the game and bump into our new president!
I am really glad to see the overall theme about Xi's visit. Rather than visiting DC and having fierce conversation on economic and foreign policy issues, Xi takes on a personal route to build relationship and seek cooperation opportunities. Co-existence is the only way to go under the 21 century of globalization. It took U.S 20 years to figure out how to deal with another superpowers on the same earth. I am sure both countries would work hard to ensure a peaceful environment.
Their talk on human rights, especially the Tibet independent issue, further inspires my interests in visiting Tibet this summer. I would like to see a Tibet without propaganda. Although, as a visitor, it's probably hard to see things from the locals' perspective. But at least, I will get to talk to them and hear their stories. To me, that's the beauty of travel.
